Rohas to acquire 51% stake in M&E firm for RM14mil

PETALING JAYA: Rohas Tecnic Bhd has entered into a non-binding term sheet with Chin Kok You to acquire a 51% stake in mechanical and electrical (M&E) firm Centrix Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd for RM14.28mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Rohas said the proposed acquisition is in line with its strategy to strengthen its position in the growing infrastructure sector, particularly the data centre value chain.

“The proposed acquisition is expected to be earnings accretive and to generate operational synergies with the group’s existing engineering and construction businesses, while enhancing its capabilities in specialised M&E works for mission-critical infrastructure within the data centre and telecommunications sectors.”

Rohas said the acquisition would be funded through a combination of internally generated funds and/or bank borrowings, with the exact funding mix to be finalised at a later stage.
