PENINSULA College Malaysia (PCM) stands at the forefront of industry-driven education – redefining how students learn, gain real-world experience and build the capabilities to thrive in the future.
The college was certified as the Biggest Campus-in-Industry and Biggest Logistics College by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR).
PCM plays a purposeful role in strengthening Malaysia’s logistics talent pipeline through its “Campus-in-Industry” model and industry-driven education approach.
Far beyond a conventional academic institution, the college seamlessly integrates learning with real operational exposure within the PKT Logistics Group (PKT) ecosystem, ensuring that graduates are not only academically grounded but also fully workplace-ready from day one.
PKT’s group chief executive and managing director Datuk Seri Michael Tio shared that PCM was established in 2008 to help address Malaysia’s shortage of skilled logistics talent.
“As Malaysia moves towards becoming a leading Asean logistics hub, we identified a clear gap in industry-ready logistics graduates and responded by creating a learning environment embedded within the industry itself-ensuring relevance and meaningful practical exposure.
“Being recognised as both the Biggest Logistics College and the Biggest Campus-in-Industry reflects our commitment to equipping students with real-world skills, competencies and knowledge – supporting Malaysia’s ambition to strengthen its logistics sector and elevate its global competitiveness,” he shared.
Meanwhile, Peninsula Higher Education group president Tung Chee Kuan emphasised that close collaboration with industry partners and advisory panels ensured that programmes remain aligned with evolving industry requirements.
“These recognitions affirm the strength of our industry-academia collaboration and its impact on graduate outcomes, as well as the broader logistics ecosystem,” he said.
The Malaysia Book of Records chief operating officer Jwan Heah added, “These certifications reflect the scale of PCM’s achievements and highlight its commitment to industry-driven education, as well as its contribution to the logistics sector.”
PCM’s achievements underscore a synergy between education and industry, shaping future-ready graduates and driving the growth of Malaysia’s logistics sector.
Shaping logistics talent
Peninsula College Georgetown Academics deputy chief executive Edwin Goh BH highlighted, “By embedding learning within an actual industrial environment, this approach strengthens students’ ability to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts, ultimately preparing them to meet the evolving demands of the industry.”
This philosophy is brought to life through the “Jom! Bekerja Sambil Belajar” (JBSB)
programme, where students gain hands-on experience alongside their academic studies while earning pocket money.

Diploma in Logistics Management student Paul Justine Tan shared that PCM offers strong growth opportunities that shape both personal and professional development, while the programme equips students with a competitive edge for future careers.
While Diploma in Maritime Management student Yap Qian Yu said that the JBSB programme offers valuable real-world exposure beyond the classroom, enabling her to apply academic knowledge and gain deeper insight into logistics operations.
Diploma of Accountancy student Janani Thangaraju described her JBSB journey as a holistic experience that has built her confidence, independence and industry readiness.
For Damia Izureen, a Diploma of Accountancy student, the programme also fostered meaningful friendships, making her college experience more enriching and fulfilling.
PCM also embeds structured internships within PKT, giving students direct immersion into logistics operations, supply chain, warehousing and corporate functions.
This continuous exposure ensures that graduates understand the full ecosystem of the industry, not just its theory.

Nurturing future leaders
The logistics industry serves as a critical backbone in today’s fast-paced global economy. It seamlessly connects businesses, markets and communities.
As demand for skilled talent continues to rise, choosing the right education pathway is never more crucial.
PCM offers a comprehensive range of study pathways from foundation and certificate to diploma and UK degree programmes, with a strong emphasis on its flagship Logistics and Maritime Management disciplines.
These are widely recognised as a preferred choice for students aspiring to build successful careers in the logistics industry.
“We are committed to a strong academic approach in delivering programmes that are closely aligned with the logistics industry needs,” said Peninsula College Shah Alam School of Logistics and Maritime dean Prakash Nadarajah.
“By integrating practical exposure into our learning model, we ensure that students are well equipped with the skills, mindset and readiness to thrive in today’s dynamic workplace.”
Students also broaden their skillset through the Peninsula Industrial Challenge, a hands-on, industry-driven competition by PCM that immerses students in real-world business and logistics scenarios.
Student teams are required to solve practical challenges, often in collaboration with industry partners by sharpening their problem-solving, analytical thinking, teamwork and presentation skills under real-world constraints.
Diploma in Logistics Management student Benjamin Kan said, “What sets my experience apart is the exposure.
He elaborated that the JBSB programme allowed him to explore beyond logistics, expanding into areas like marketing, to build a broader skill set while becoming more adaptable and confident in taking on new challenges.

Diverse programmes
PCM also offers a portfolio of different programmes across Business and Management, E-Business, Accounting and Finance, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, and Computer Science (with specialisations in Cyber Security and Software Engineering).
As the world accelerates into the digital era, academic offerings are enhanced with the introduction of the BSc (Hons) Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) 3+0 programme, equipping students with future-ready skills in one of the world’s most in-demand fields.
Students also benefit from established academic pathways to UK degree programmes through PCM’s partnerships with prestigious UK universities; such as the University of Plymouth and the University of Gloucestershire, which offer them opportunities to complete their bachelor’s degree locally or further their studies in the United Kingdom.
Industry-ready graduates
With PCM’s unique Peninsula Advantage built upon four pillars: Structured Employability Skills, Career Readiness, Industry Readiness and Sustainable and Global Citizen, the college ensures holistic graduate development that extends beyond academic achievement.
This comprehensive approach is reflected in its 100% graduate employability rate, as reported in the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE)’s Tracer Study, demonstrating the effectiveness of its industry-integrated education model.
Through this framework, PCM consistently produces graduates who are confident, capable and ready to make meaningful contributions to the workforce.
