Jasa Kita eyes diversification into power sector via RM10mil acquisition

Jasa Kita group managing director Datuk Seri Iskandar Mizal Mahmood.

KUALA LUMPUR: Jasa Kita Bhd has proposed to acquire electrical engineering firm KT System Sdn Bhd for RM10mil, in a bid to diversify into the power and utilities infrastructure sector.

In a statement, the group said the acquisition forms part of Jasa Kita’s strategic diversification, as the group seeks to emerge as an enabler of critical infrastructure supporting energy transition and data centre growth.

“Further initiatives are expected to be announced in due course,” it added.

The acquisition, which involves the purchase of a 100% equity interest in KT System from Norza Holdings Sdn Bhd and Nazarudin Salleh, is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026.

The purchase will be funded through internally generated funds.

“This acquisition creates synergy and serves as a strategic fit by combining KT System’s established technical capabilities with Jasa Kita’s longer-term ambition to build a broader engineering platform in the power infrastructure and utilities space,” said Jasa Kita group managing director Datuk Seri Iskandar Mizal Mahmood.

“Our immediate focus would be on strengthening and optimising KT System’s existing capabilities by leveraging its proven track record in project delivery and deep technical expertise.

“From there, we will progressively deepen its capabilities, strengthen execution and widen the scope of work to potentially cater for more complex power infrastructure and grid-related projects in line with the Jasa Kita group’s growth plans.”

KT System is a full-service electrical engineering company involved in the inspection, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems for transmission and distribution networks.

The company also undertakes both outdoor and indoor electrical works across Malaysia, while providing consulting and management services within the power sector. KT System is licensed by the Energy Commission to carry out testing and commissioning works of up to 500KV.
