Ocean Fresh unit faces additional tax assessments


KUALA LUMPUR: Ocean Fresh Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Ocean Fresh Seafood Products Sdn Bhd, has received notices of additional assessments from the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) amounting to a total of RM4.18mil for the years 2021 to 2024.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the frozen seafood company said the assessments comprised RM742,546.91 for 2021, RM567,128.11 for 2022, RM2,073,042.90 for 2023, and RM793,421.34 for 2024.

“The company is currently seeking legal advice and evaluating its legal options, which may include initiating a formal appeal to the IRB,” it said.

Ocean Fresh garnered a net profit of RM327,000 for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2025, on a turnover of RM30.5mil.

For the financial year ended Dec 31, 2025 (FY25), the group saw its bottom line halved to RM938,000 from RM1.92mil a year ago. Revenue dipped to RM157.1mil, down from RM163.7mil in FY24.
