I-Lee Hsu

PETALING JAYA: British American Tobacco (Malaysia) Bhd (BAT) has appointed I-Lee Hsu as its managing director, with effect from Aug 1, 2026.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, BAT said Hsu (51), from Taiwan, will succeed Nedal Louay Salem (56), who has resigned.

"Nedal's international assignment to the company will be concluded on Aug 1, 2026.

“Hence, he resigned as the non-independent executive director and managing director of the company on Aug 1,” said the company.

BAT said Hsu brings more than two decades of experience spanning general management, brand marketing, sales, mergers and acquisitions, and joint-venture leadership across multiple industries and markets.

"Prior to this appointment, he served as Vietnam Cluster General Manager at BAT Vietnam, a role he has held since 2021. He previously held leadership roles, including cluster general manager for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, as well as general manager in Cambodia."
