AME Elite to construct RM214mil aviation facility for KLIA Aeropolis

PETALING JAYA: AME Elite Consortium Bhd has secured a RM214.1mil contract to construct a specialised aviation facility at KLIA Aeropolis, marking one of its largest construction wins to date and reinforcing its position in high-specification industrial developments.

The contract was awarded to its wholly owned subsidiary, AME Construction Sdn Bhd, by KLIA Aeropolis Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd.

The project involves the construction of a Test Cell Facility (Phase 1) in Sepang, Selangor, designed to support aeronautical engine testing operations that require stringent safety, structural and technical standards.

AME Elite said the scope of work covers the main building works for the specialised aircraft engine testing facility, which will form part of the broader KLIA Aeropolis development.

Construction is scheduled to commence in February 2026, with completion targeted within 12 months by January 2027.

The group expects the project to contribute positively to earnings for the financial year ending March 31, 2027. Following the latest award, AME Elite’s construction and engineering division has secured more than RM600mil in external projects since the start of the current financial year, underlining strong demand for its services.

Executive director and group chief executive Dylan Tan Teck Eng said the contract represents a significant milestone for the group and highlights its ability to deliver technically complex projects under strict regulatory and safety requirements.

“Being entrusted with this landmark project is a key milestone for AME Elite, demonstrating our technical capabilities and adding to our accolades of significant projects. The project contributes to the national blueprint to grow the aerospace industry,” he said.

Tan added that AME Elite’s integrated business model, spanning construction, engineering and industrial park development, has enabled the group to deliver a diverse portfolio of customised logistics, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and aviation facilities.

He said the award validates AME Elite’s capacity to execute with precision and speed, positioning the group to capture rising demand for high-performance buildings across Malaysia’s fast-growing industrial sectors.
