Wawasan Dengkil and Kester partner on renewable energy projects

KUALA LUMPUR: Wawasan Dengkil Holdings Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Wawasan Dengkil Sdn Bhd, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Kester Sdn Bhd to explore collaboration on renewable energy and green technology projects in Kedah.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing, the company said the MOU will see Wawasan Dengkil act as a project delivery partner, while Kester serves as the state’s facilitator for renewable and green energy investments.

Kester is as a coordinator and developer for all projects involving

renewable energy investment in Kedah, including solar energy, wind energy, hydro energy, biomass, geothermal energy, marine energy, hydrogen and other related energies.

It said the MOU takes effect on the date of signing and will remain in force for a period of one year, unless extended by mutual written agreement of the parties.

“The MOU serves with the objectives of promoting investments in green and sustainable energy sectors, facilitating the development of solar, hybrid, biomass and other renewable energy projects, coordinating infrastructure readiness and regulatory facilitation with relevant authorities,” the company said.
