Sunway REIT appoints Derek Teh as new CEO

PETALING JAYA: Sunway Real Estate Investment Trust (Sunway REIT) has appointed Derek Teh Wan Wei as its chief executive officer (CEO).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said Teh, 47, currently serves as vice-chairman of the Malaysian REIT Managers Association.

“He brings over 20 years of experience in the property industry. Prior to joining Sunway REIT Management Sdn Bhd, the manager of Sunway REIT, he was the CEO of Sentral REIT Management Sdn Bhd, the Manager of Sentral REIT.

“Previously, he held senior positions including vice president, properties at Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd, where he provided leadership and oversight for the development of various commercial, residential, and mixed development projects.”

Separately, Sunway REIT announced that acting CEO Ng Bee Lien has been redesignated as the group’s chief financial officer, following the appointment of Teh as its new CEO.

Ng, 52, was appointed as acting CEO on June 16, 2025.
