Northern Solar reports higher 2Q26 earnings

PETALING JAYA: Northern Solar Holdings Bhd has posted a higher profit of RM4.22mil for the second quarter ended Sept 30, 2025 compared to the RM3.66mil in the same quarter a year ago.

This was on the back of a higher revenue of RM28.14mil for the quarter under review.

According to a filing to Bursa Malaysia, the increase in both was due to higher engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) activities for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for its clients.

Revenue from EPCC of the solar PV systems segment increased to RM27.5mil from RM27.4mil in the previous quarter.

The improvements were also attributable to the reversal of impairment loss on financial instruments, but was partly offset by higher administrative expenses.

For the quarter, it secured an EPCC contract from an aquaculture company in Pahang, further strengthening its orderbook and showing readiness to capitalise on emerging opportunities in the renewable energy market.

Moving forward, the group is confident in delivering satisfactory financial performance for the forthcoming financial year.
