Phase 2 pay hike for civil servants to spur domestic spending

DOMESTIC consumption could get a boost early next year as civil servants are set to receive a salary increment of between 3% and 7%, depending on grades, under Phase 2 of the new Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA).

The increases will also apply to pension rates to ensure fairness and help pensioners better cope with rising living costs.
