PETALING JAYA: UUE Holdings Bhd
’s unit Konnection Engineering Pte Ltd has secured a S$20.9mil or about RM67.3mil contract from Wee Guan Construction Pte Ltd, making this its highest order win in Singapore to date.
UUE, which is a utility engineering solutions provider, said the contract entails the supply and installation of 230 kilovolt power cables, auxiliary cables and accessories.
“This includes the installation of high-density polyethylene pipes by using the horizontal directional drilling method,” it said.
“We are pleased to receive this award from one of our long-standing customers, which reaffirms our strong execution capabilities and proven track record in meeting regional standards within Singapore.
“We are encouraged by this milestone, as our job scope has now expanded to a full-scale role covering the provision of materials, labour and equipment compared to the smaller horizontal directional drilling service packages secured previously,” UUE managing director Datuk Dr Ting Kok Hwa said in a statement.
“The planned expansion of our in-house high-density polyethylene pipe manufacturing arm is progressing on the right track to support our growing market share,” he added.
“With Singapore’s construction sector remaining vibrant, we believe the company is well-positioned to accelerate its operational growth in the country.”
The latest project win, with SP PowerAssets as the principal, is expected to be completed by end-2027, the company said.
It will in turn also lift UUE’s order book to an all-time high of RM521.9mil to provide it with strong earnings visibility over the next two to three years.
The company said its total year-to-date contract wins in turn have risen to more than RM362mil.
UUE is a one-stop provider of underground utilities engineering solutions with Grade G7 accreditation from the Construction Industry Development Board.
The company was founded in 2009 and provides services to various underground utilities engineering projects in Malaysia and Singapore from diverse types of industries.
