KUALA LUMPUR: IJM Corp Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary, IJM Construction Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM1.26bil contract from a Sime Darby Property Bhd (SimeProp) subsidiary to develop a hyperscale data centre in Elmina Business Park, Selangor.

According to a statement, the contract covers construction of the main structure for one data centre block, along with associated infrastructure and facilities.

The project is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2025 and is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2027.

The development will occupy a 31.16ha site within Elmina Business Park, earmarked by SimeProp for expanding data centre projects.

IJM Corp’s group chief executive officer and managing director Datuk Lee Chun Fai said the award reinforces the company’s partnership with SimeProp in delivering high-specification industrial and digital infrastructure.

“It reflects confidence in IJM Construction’s ability to execute complex projects safely and efficiently within accelerated timelines, further strengthening our robust order book, supported by a growing pipeline of industrial and data centre projects,” he said.

The group stated that with its expanding experience in data centre construction and integrated engineering capabilities across civil and structural works, IJM Construction is well positioned to capitalise on opportunities in Malaysia’s fast-growing digital and industrial infrastructure sector. — Bernama
