Perak Transit to partner CAPE EMS in sustainable urban infrastructure projects

KUALA LUMPUR: Perak Transit Bhd has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Cape EMS Bhd to roll out its smart mobility and environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives.

In a statement, Perak Transit said, as the project owner, it will oversee the development of transformative projects while CAPE EMS will serve as the solutions provider.

It said the projects include Ipoh's first electric vehicle (EV) charging hub, which is one of Malaysia's fastest charging stations integrated with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

The other initiative is the Smart Bus Stop project, targeted to commence in 4Q25, which will enhance commuter convenience and generate recurring income streams through advertising, micro-leasing and telecommunication-leasing opportunities.

"This MOA represents a strategic step in accelerating Perak Transit's Smart Mobility roadmap.

"By combining a low-capex structure with impactful Smart Mobility and ESG initiatives, we are building new recurring income streams that will strengthen our earnings base and enhance shareholder value," said Perak Transit executive director Datuk Cheong Peak Sooi.
