Mitrajaya’s KL data centre contract value more than doubles to RM801.8mil

PETALING JAYA: Mitrajaya Holdings Bhd’s (MHB) contract value for the construction of a data centre in Kuala Lumpur has been revised upwards to RM801.84mil from RM375.5mil, previously.

Mitrajaya said the revised includes three variation orders.

“The amended contract is expected to be completed by April 2026 for Stage 1 Phase 2 and February 2027 for Stage 2 and Stage 3 Phase 1.”

MHB said the amended contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of the group for the financial years ending Dec 31, 2025, 2026 and 2027.

“The amended contract will not have effect on the share capital and shareholding structure of MHB.”

The construction group announced in January that the contract was awarded by NEXTDC Sdn Bhd, the Malaysian unit of Australia's data centre operator NEXTDC Ltd.

NEXTDC first announced its entry into the Malaysian market in 2023, with plans to develop a data centre facility in Kuala Lumpur.

According to reports, the company plans to invest approximately RM3bil in Malaysia over five to 10 years.
