Ringgit extends gains on RON95 subsidy reform

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar on Tuesday, extending gains as market confidence was lifted by the government’s firm policy stance following the rationalisation of RON95 subsidies.

At 8 am, the local note strengthened to 4.1885/2085 against the greenback from Monday’s close of 4.1945/2040.
