Ge said ZTE’s Catalysing Intelligent Innovation showcase in Sarawak reflects the company’s commitment to co-build an ecosystem that accelerates digital transformation, drives renewable growth, and prepares Sarawak’s talent and industries for the AI-powered future.
SARAWAK: ZTE Corporation, a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, hosted its first-ever Catalysing Intelligent Innovation showcase in Sarawak, bringing the latest technologies to Malaysia’s largest state.
The event underscored ZTE’s commitment to advancing Sarawak’s digital ecosystem and supporting Malaysia’s broader ambitions for intelligent transformation.
At the core of the showcase was ZTE’s ambition to build next-generation infrastructure that is efficient, sustainable, and intelligent.
The company presented a comprehensive portfolio of technologies spanning mobile networks, rural connectivity, all-optical networks, intelligent transport, and data centers, all designed to accelerate Sarawak’s digital development.
These innovations were featured across dedicated booths at the event, allowing visitors to experience the solutions first-hand.
At the ultra-efficient mobile network booth, ZTE introduced its Ultra Band Radio (UBR) and green site solutions, designed to simplify deployment while lowering energy consumption by up to 40%.
To extend connectivity into underserved areas, the booth also showcased the Eco Radio, which reduces site-level power usage by 30%, and the Rural Pilot, a modular, solar-powered solution capable of being deployed within 10 days.
Together, these solutions are tailored to bridge Sarawak’s digital divide and enhance inclusivity across the state.
The event also highlighted the potential of All-Optical Networks, with demonstrations of Wi-Fi 7, Fiber-To-The-Room (FTTR), and AI-driven smart terminals that deliver seamless, high-performance broadband experiences for both households and businesses.
Complementing these offerings was ZTE’s Intelligent Transport Network, built on 1.6T ultra-capacity optical transport, advanced 800G modules, and proprietary advanced digital signal processing (DSP) technology to provide the high-speed and scalable backbone required to meet Sarawak’s growing data needs.
ZTE further showcased its AI-Driven Data Center solutions, including prefabricated modular facilities and the R6500 G5 Inference Server. Featuring cold-plate liquid cooling and achieving a power usage effectiveness (PUE) as low as 1.1, these solutions enable rapid deployment, flexible scalability, and sustainable efficiency for AI computing and enterprise cloud workloads.
Through this event, ZTE extended an open invitation to Sarawak’s ecosystem players, including the Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), Sacofa Sdn Bhd (Sacofa), Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS), Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB), Borneo Restu Sdn Bhd, Reach Ten Holdings Bhd
, and others, to collaborate in co-creating a smart and inclusive digital future for the state.
ZTE Malaysia managing director Steven Ge said, “Our showcase in Sarawak reflects ZTE’s commitment to innovation that is both sustainable and inclusive. By combining connectivity, computing, and intelligence, we aim to co-build an ecosystem that accelerates digital transformation, drives renewable growth, and prepares Sarawak’s talent and industries for the AI-powered future.”
The event also reaffirmed ZTE’s long-term commitment to Malaysia. In recent years, the company has provided 100% radio access network (RAN) coverage for key operators in Sarawak, powered the nation’s fastest 5G-Advanced speed of 30.8 Gbps, and actively supported national initiatives such as the National Digital Network (Jendela) project to expand broadband connectivity in rural and underserved areas.
“ZTE Malaysia has been a trusted partner in the nation’s digital transformation journey, and Sarawak holds a special place in that vision. From powering the fastest 5G-Advanced speeds in Malaysia to bringing high-speed broadband to underserved communities, we are committed to working with local partners to bridge the digital divide and shape a smarter, more connected Sarawak,” Ge added.
With over 94,000 global patent applications and a strong record of supporting national digital agendas, ZTE continues to empower Malaysia to lead the intelligent era.
By showcasing its innovative and cutting-edge technologies in Sarawak, ZTE has once again demonstrated its role as a global driver of digital progress, shaping a future-ready economy and a smarter, greener, and more connected society.
