Key Asic clinches AI chip design deal


PETALING JAYA: Key Asic Bhd has secured a RM13.1mil artificial intelligence (AI) chip design contract from a leading technology company.

Key Asic, in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that did not name the the company, said the technology company is involved in designing, developing, manufacturing and selling products containing semiconductor devices.

It said the cutting-edge AI chip will be delivered in six to nine months, with volume production to follow, unlocking recurring revenue.

Designed for a five-year lifespan, the chip will power smart products set to transform global industries.

Key Asic said the AI chip is designed for high performance with ultra-low power use, meeting the key demand in AI and edge computing for maximum power efficiency.

“The contract is likely to generate recurring income for the next few years,” it said.
