Amtel ventures into motor vehicle manufacturing, eyes export markets

PETALING JAYA: Amtel Holdings Bhd has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Amtel Cellular Sdn Bhd, (AMCSB), will be venturing into the manufacturing and assembly of motor vehicles for the local and export markets.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Amtel said AMCSB is involved in the research and development of hardware, software applications and its related services; as well as manufacturing, assembling, installation and sale of telematics and navigation products, electronics, automotive and telecommunication related products and its related service.

“The motor vehicle business is driven by both strategic alignment and market opportunity. As a company with established expertise in automotive accessories, the group possesses valuable know-how in product design, engineering, quality control, and supply chain management.

“These capabilities provide a strong foundation for upstream integration into motor vehicle production. This also allows the group to bolster its presence across the automotive supply chain, strengthen operational synergies, broaden its customer base and create additional revenue streams.”
