CIMB cancels Raya open house


KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB Group Holdings Bhd has cancelled the Raya open house at the St Regis Kuala Lumpur scheduled for today, April 15, 2025, following the passing of former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

The group said Abdullah, who served as the the fifth Prime Minister of Malaysia from 2003 to 2009, had played an instrumental role in the GLC Transformation Programme, which significantly shaped CIMB’s journey into becoming the bank it is today.

"As the nation mourns his loss, we extend our deepest condolences to Tun's family and loved ones.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your kind understanding during this time of national mourning.

"May Allah SWT place his soul among the righteous. Al-Fatihah."

Abdullah passed away at the National Heart Institute at 7.10pm yesterday at the age of 85.
