PETRONAS Gas to roll out measures to ensure gas supply in affected areas

KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Gas Bhd said it is implementing several mitigation measures to ensure security of gas supply and the retoration of its pipeline services in areas affected by the recent Putra Heights fire until full operations can be resumed.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the gas merchant said the fire in Puchong, Selangor, has affected its pipeline services within the Central Zone - including Shah Alam, Klang, Puchong and Batu Tiga - which affects about 7% of the gas shipper's total commitment volume to its customers.

"PETRONAS Gas, as the gas transporter, is fully committed to ensure its commitment under the gas transportation agreement to the gas shipper," it said.

It added that it will only be able to provide the full financial impact of the incident upon the completion of the incident investigation, tentatively in May 2025.
