Reservoir Link Energy's associate bags RM20mil floating solar farm project

KUALA LUMPUR: Reservoir Link Energy Bhd's 45%-owned associate Founder Group Ltd has secured a RM20mil contract for the construction of a floating solar farm located in Kuala Langat, Selangor.

Founder Group will serve as a sub-contractor and be responsible in supplying labour, hand tools, materials, and necessary machinery and equipment to support the execution of general conditions preliminaries and consultation.

In a statement, the group said the facility, which spans about 24 acres and utilises floating photovoltaic technology, is designed to generate 10MWac/15MWp of solar power.

It said the cutting-edge technology, which involves solar panels mounted onto floating platforms in bodies of water, will help reduce land usage while maximising energy generation.

"We would like to congratulate Founder Group Limited on the appointment as a key subcontractor for this innovative floating solar farm project.

"Given the growing demand for renewable energy solutions, we look forward to continuously do our part and support Malaysia’s renewable energy goals as we promote a greener, more sustainable future,” said Reservoir Link executive deputy chairman Thien Chiet Chai.

The floating solar farm is expected to be completed by June 2025.
