George Kent bags RM27mil Sarawak job


PETALING JAYA: George Kent (M) Bhd has secured a contract valued at RM26.7mil for the Sarawak Water Supply Grid Program’s Stressed Area Project.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said the project will significantly enhance water supply infrastructure along Bakun Road from Laban to Tubau areas in Bintulu Division, Sarawak.

“This contract, awarded by Jabatan Bekalan Air Luar Bandar (JBALB) Sarawak, marks George Kent’s first project win in Sarawak, a milestone that underscores the company’s expanding footprint in Malaysia.”

George Kent said the scope of work for the project includes the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems.

“This vital infrastructure project aims to provide reliable and sustainable access to clean water for communities in Sarawak’s stressed areas, supporting regional development and improving the quality of life for residents.”

George Kent will partner Techkem Utilities, which has been appointed as the main sub-contractor by EPR (Kuching) Sdn Bhd, the main contractor for this project under JBLAB Sarawak.
