KUALA LUMPUR: TCS Group Holdings Bhd
said Kuala Lumpur City Hall has issued a stop-work order following reports of structural cracks at the J Satine condominium construction site in Wangsa Maju.
“As the main contractor for the project, TCS Construction Sdn Bhd (TCSC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, expresses deep concern over this incident. Initial findings suggest that the building cracks are not caused by the company,” TCS said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
“The board would like to reaffirm its commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity across all projects. TCSC has complied rigorously with all health and safety protocols throughout the construction process, and it is confirmed that no casualties were reported in relation to this incident,” it said.
TCS said it is fully cooperating with the relevant authorities to determine the exact cause and implement any necessary corrective measures.
In a separate statement, TCS managing director Datuk Ir Tee Chai Seng said: “We are deeply concerned about the incident and we are working closely with the developer and consultants to determine the root cause. Thankfully, there were no casualties as a result of the incident. We want to reiterate that health and safety have always been paramount in our projects.”
“We want to assure all stakeholders that we have adhered strictly to all health and safety standards and protocols throughout the construction process. The group is cooperating fully with the relevant authorities in their investigation into the cause of the incident. Initial findings suggest that the building cracks are not caused by us.”
