LKL partners Indonesian firm for sale of medical equipment

KUALA LUMPUR: LKL International Bhd has partnered Indonesian workforce solutions firm PT Fasilitas Teknologi Nusantara (Fastech) to establish a JV company for the manufacturing and sale of medical equipment, devices and furniture in Indonesia.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, LKL said it would have a 51% stake in the company while Fastech held the remaining 49%.

It said the JV will mark a strategic expansion into the Indonesian healthcare market, leveraging LKL’s expertise in manufacturing medical equipment and furniture alongside Fastech’s local market knowledge and distribution network.

Additionally, by establishing a local manufacturing presence, the JV company will reduce costs, enhance operational efficiency, and meet the growing demand for quality healthcare solutions in Indonesia.

"Focusing on production lease agreements with hospitals offers a cost-effective solution, providing access to advanced medical equipment without significant capital investment.

"The proposed joint venture strengthens LKL’s position in the Aseqn healthcare market and supports its long-term growth strategy," said LKL.

Separately, LKL also announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary LKL Advance Metaltech Sdn Bhd (LKLAM) had inked a memorandum of understanding with Andorra Healthcare Bhd to explore the leasing of medical equipment for a new hospital in Johor Bahru.

Andorra, via its subsidiary, operates Andorra Women & Children Hospital, which is a private specialist hospital in Selangor focused on providing healthcare services specifically for women and children.
