ITMAX System Bhd managing director and CEO William Tan Wei Lun

KUALA LUMPUR: ITMax System Bhd’s subsidiary, Southmax Sdn Bhd has been appointed by Muar Municipal Council as the smart parking operator, managing 8,650 street parking bays in the Muar district.

In a statement, ITMAX announced that, like its other smart parking contracts, this 15-year contract, effective from Oct 1, 2024, will operate under a revenue-sharing model.

Southmax will receive 70% of the revenue generated from parking collections and compounds.

Managing director/chief executive officer William Tan Wei Lun said the latest contract is the group’s fifth smart parking contract in Johor, this time in the vibrant city of Muar.

“As we move forward, we are eager to see the positive impact our smart parking system will have on Muar’s overall city management, driving greater efficiency and convenience. This achievement marks an exciting step in our mission to support the digital transformation of cities, and we are excited to extend this technology to other cities in Johor, contributing to the development of smarter, more connected urban environments,” he said.
