Producer price index eases 1.9% in 2023 - DoSM


KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s Producer Price Index (PPI) decreased by 1.9 per cent in 2023 (2022: 7.8 per cent), mainly due to the contraction in the agriculture, forestry fishing (-13.8 per cent), according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DoSM).

DoSM said that as the largest component in this sector, the double-digit decline in the growing of perennial crops index (-23.1 per cent) led to the downturn of the overall sector.
