Unisem acquires lands in Kinta, Perak for RM30.14mil

KUALA LUMPUR: Unisem (M) Bhd has proposed to acquire 38 plots of vacant land covering a total area of 1.88 million square feet in in Kinta, Perak for RM30.14mil cash, or at the rate of RM16 per square foot.

“As the said Lands are located directly behind our existing facility at Gopeng, Perak, the acquisition is to facilitate the future expansion of our semiconductor packaging and test facilities,” Unisem said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

It added that the land would be used to support the Gopeng plant in providing additional car park space and hostels for its employees.

“The acquisition will be able to contribute positively to the growth of the group,” it said.
