Carimin to acquire new RM23mil boat

PETALING JAYA: Carimin Petroleum Bhd (CPB) is proposing to acquire an unregistered newbuild crew boat, named “Hull 460,” from Singapore-listed Penguin Shipyard Asia Pte Ltd for RM23.39mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the firm said the proposed acquisition was in line with the expansion plan of CPB’s business in providing marine support services for its offshore maintenance and hook-up and commissioning activities.

“The proposed acquisition will complement the company’s vessel fleet operations,” it said.

CPB said the vessel is scheduled to be delivered by the end of June 2024.

Additionally, CPB said the proposed acquisition will increase its gearing ratio from 0.04 to 0.12.
