The construction company said its total outstanding order book stood at RM6.9bil.

PETALING JAYA: Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) has signed a deal worth RM747.8mil in respect of the construction and completion of a data centre in Selangor.

The construction company said its total outstanding order book stood at RM6.9bil, with total new projects secured by the group so far this year, including the abovementioned works, amounting to RM1.6bil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, SunCon said its wholly-owned subsidiary Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd has entered into a project services request with a US-headquartered technology corporation for the works. It said the total lump sum price for the works was RM747.8mil inclusive of withholding as well as sales and service taxes.

The works are scheduled to commence no later than the estimated start date of May 15, 2024 and they will be divided in four sections, each with designated completion dates, SunCon said.

“The final section is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2027,” it added.

The works were expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings for the financial year ending 2024 onwards.
