MBSB appoints ex-KWAP CEO Wan Kamaruzaman as chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Building Society Bhd (MBSB) has appointed Datuk Wan Kamaruzaman Wan Ahmad as chairman/non-independent non-executive director effective Jan 24.

Wan Kamaruzaman, 64, is a nominee of the Employees Provident Fund Board.

He was the chief executive officer (CEO) of Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP) from May 2013 until November 2018.

He started his career with Malayan Banking Bhd in 1981, mostly in the treasury department with two overseas postings at Hamburg, Germany as chief dealer and London, United Kingdom as treasury manager.

After leaving Maybank in 1994, he served as CEO and director with several companies within the Affin Group until 2005. He then briefly served Kemuncak Facilities Management Sdn Bhd and Izoma (M) Sdn Bhd, both as Executive Director of Finance until 2007.

Wan Kamaruzaman served as the general manager, the treasury department of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) from September 2007 until April 2013.

He also sits on the board of Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd and Bermaz Auto Bhd.
