Exim Bank appoints Charon Mokhzani as new chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Bhd (Exim Bank) has appointed Datuk Charon Wardini Mokhzani as its new chairman.

In a statement, the bank said Charon will succeed Datuk Azman Mahmud, who ended his term with Exim Bank late last year.

“Charon was most recently the group managing director of Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd.

“Other leadership roles he has held include founding CEO of Khazanah Research Institute, executive director Khazanah Nasional, deputy CEO of CIMB Group, CEO of CIMB Investment Bank, chairman CIMB-Principal Asset Management Bhd (now Principal Asset Management Bhd) and managing partner of Zaid Ibrahim & Co.”

He currently serves on the boards of Yayasan Tuanku Fauziah, Yayasan Tuanku Syed Putra Perlis and the Kuala Lumpur Business Club, and was on the board of Universiti Putra Malaysia.
