Euro Holdings appoints Yip Kit Weng as director

KUALA LUMPUR: Euro Holdings Bhd has appointed Yip Kit Weng as independent and non executive director effective July 14.

Yip, 52, has approximately 30 years of experience in equity fundraising, corporate finance and advisory services, corporate banking, private debt securities issuances and private equity transactions.

He is currently serving as an independent non-executive director of Esente Capital Bhd, Privasia Technology Bhd and independent non-executive chairman of Frugl Group Limited which is listed on Australian Stock Exchange.

Prior to this, he was the deputy group managing director of Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd from October 2019 to November 2021. From December 2019 to October 2021, Yip also served as non-independent non-executive director of Affin Hwang Asset Management Bhd and AIIMAN Asset Management Sdn Bhd.

Yip started his career in 1993 with Messrs PriceWaterhouseCoopers before joining Urama Merchant Bank Bhd (formerly known as Utama Wardley Berhad) three years later. He spent a total of eight years as senior manager, corporate finance with Utama Merchant Bank Bhd and also worked as executive director with AFG Global Services Sdn Bhd and AFG Advisory Sdn Bhd from 2004 to 2008.

He also currently serves as a divisional councilor for CPA Australia Malaysia Division effective January 2021 and was recently elected as deputy president for the calendar year 2023.

Yip holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting & Finance from the University of Western Australia. He is also a fellow member of Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia and Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

He is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) of Financial Planning Association of Malaysia and Fellow of Certified Practicing Accountant Australia (FCPA) of Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants (CPAs).
