US dollar rise puts pressure on ringgit


The US dollar was pushed higher by safe haven demand in view of continued talks to lift the US debt ceiling. — Reuters

BOTH the US Treasury yields, and US dollar index have seen large movements during the week.

They were driven by rising expectations of more tightening by the US Federal Reserve (Fed) in view of the better US economic data, as well as hawkish signals by some Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) members.
