THE headlines surrounding modern banking have not been comforting. Bank runs, failures and loss of competitiveness are just some of the issues plaguing the western banking circles.

Thankfully for Asian bankers, those difficulties are not omnipresent within their ecosystem. But it is not to say that bankers in Asia have it easy but the situation in Malaysia and South-East Asia has been calmer.
