Inflation figures moderate slightly in April

PETALING JAYA: Inflation eased slightly in April as prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, transport and restaurants and hotels increased at a slower pace.

According to the Statistics Department, the consumer price index (CPI), a gauge of inflation, rose 3.3% year-on-year (y-o-y) last month as compared to an increase of 3.4% y-o-y in March.
