Puncak Niaga appointed sub-contractor for Johor pipe replacement programme


KUALA LUMPUR: Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary Puncak Niaga Construction Sdn Bhd has been appointed the principal sub-contractor for Package 2 of the Johor pipe replacement programme 2020 - Johor Bahru, Kulai, Pontian, Kota Tinggi and Mersing.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said the contract, valued at RM82.86mil, was secured from the main contactor of the porject, Jalur Cahaya Sdn Bhd.

Under the terms of the contract, Puncak Niaga Constructions will undertake the replacement of 84,535m of existing main pipes and existing communication pipes for 40,672 connections inside the 41 District Metered Area.

The group will also test and commission the new pipelines and communication pipes and interconnection works to the existing water supply distribution network.

The project commenced with retrospective effect from Aug 1, 2022, and will be completed on Jan 17, 2024.
