“We expect several consumer names to benefit from the return of Chinese tourists and their spending power,” says CGS-CIMB Research.

PETALING JAYA: While the reopening of China will boost the local economy, the impact is expected to be offset by rising operating cost of businesses.

CGS-CIMB Research said this in a report to clients, adding that the positive effect has also been relatively priced in.
