Banking resilient despite challenges


CGS-CIMB Research pointed out that industry’s loan growth moderated from 6.5% in October to 5.5% as at end-November, largely in line with its projected growth of 5% to 6% for 2022.

PETALING JAYA: While there are signs of loan growth tapering off, the banking sector is expected to demonstrate resilience with net interest margin (NIM) expansion on track due to at least one more interest rate hike this year.
