T7 consortium secures KLIA contract

KUALA LUMPUR: T7 Global Bhd’s subsidiary T7 Kemuncak Sdn Bhd, being part of Siemens T7 Consortium, has secured a contract to upgrade the baggage handling system (BHS) at Terminal 1 Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said the contract from Malaysia Airports (Sepang) Sdn Bhd involved the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a state-of-the-art BHS. The new BHS will feature the efficient Siemens Logistics VarioBelt belt conveyor.

With VarioStore, Terminal 1 is receiving a modern early bag store (EBS) that will give the airport a storage capacity of 2,500 bag positions, which is higher than the current storage capacity.
