KUALA LUMPUR: Sersol Bhd has been appointed an agent for the Malaysia Premium Visa Programme (PVIP) by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
The group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia the appointment would enable it to act as an agent on behalf of the Immigration Department to process up to 300 applications over a period of three years from Oct 21, 2022.
The PVIP is a long-term residency status visa that enables investors, entrepreneurs and foreign talents to live and work or study in Malaysia for up to 20 years.
Principally involved with plastic and metal coating for the electrical and electronics industry, ACE-Market-listed Sersol said the appointment would allow it to operate in a new business segment, thus diversifying its revenue stream.
"The Board is also of view that the Appointment is in the best interest of the company and its subsidiaries and barring any unforeseen circumstances, the appointment will contribute positively to the group," it said.
On Oct 13, Sersol announced Messrs TGS TW PLT had resigned as auditors of the company on a voluntary basis.
"Save for the above, the Board is not aware of any matter that need to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the Company," it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
It said the appointment of the new auditors would be advised in due course pending clearance and consent to act from the new auditor.
