KUALA LUMPUR: The construction industry is in dire need of eco-friendly cement, also known as “green cement,” to realise the nation’s aspiration to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Bernama reported that, currently, there is no known substitute material for cement. The construction industry’s ecosystem, as a whole, needs to evolve, said Azmir, adding that the transportation industry, which is the largest emitter of CO2, is also a big part of the construction sector.
