Majuperak CEO to go on garden leave


KUALA LUMPUR: Majuperak Holdings Bhd has announced that its group CEO cum executive director Nizran Noordin has been given garden leave effective Sept 2, 2022 until the expiry of his service contract on Oct 31, 2022.

It said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia its chief financial officer, Syed Agil Syed Hashim, will be appointed acting group CEO to assume the day-to-day management of the group and its subsidiaries.

According to the statement, Syed Agil has over 20 years of experience in senior management, corporate, finance, funding, business planning, and auditing in the accounting and corporate services profession.

In 1995, he joined KPMG (Kuala Lumpur) as an Audit Senior to perform audits in various industries including manufacturing, trading, oil & gas, hotel, and public listed companies.

He then joined Multimedia Development Corporation as a Finance Manager for about six years before he joined Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation in year 2006 with his last position as chief investment officer.

In 2021, he joined Perak State Development Corporation as deputy chief executive prior to joining MHB on July 1, 2022, as the general manager of corporate finance.
