KUALA LUMPUR: Investors could be eyeing stocks with recent corporate annoucements including Pekat, G Capital, Gopeng, Sime Darby Plantation, Boustead Plantations, Malakoff, AEON, Star Media Group, IOI, Sports Toto, PMB Technology, TMC Life Sciences, Kerjaya Prospek, Sarawak Plantation, Deleum, VSTECS, CI, WCE, UOA Development, Dutch Lady Milk Industries, Rubberex, D&O Green Technologies and GDEX, said JF Apex Research.

Pekat Group Bhd as it is partnering Proton Holdings Bhd to promote the adoption of the solar photovoltaic system.

G Capital Bhd had completed the installation and commenced operation of a 309.28 kilowatts peak (KWp) solar photovoltaic (PV) electric power generation system in Penang.

Gopeng Bhd has obtained a four-year extension from the Energy Commission (EC) to the 21-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Tenaga Nasional Bhd.

Companies with improved quarterly earnings include Sime Darby Plantation, Boustead Plantations, Malakoff Corp, AEON, Star Media Group, IOI Corp, Sports Toto, PMB Technology, TMC Life Sciences, Kerjaya Prospek, Sarawak Plantation, Deleum, VSTECS, CI Holdings and WCE Holdings.

Companies with lower corporate results were UOA Development, Dutch Lady Milk Industries, Rubberex Corp, D&O Green Technologies and GDEX.

Meanwhile, JF Apex said the FBM KLCI could remain under pressure with support at 1,475 points.

The US market was flat with the Dow and S&P falling slightly while the Nasdaq was unchanged as investors look toward the Federal Reserve chairperson's Jackson Hole speech on Friday to gauge future interest rate hikes.

Earlier, European stocks declined after higher oil prices and lower flash PMI in August.
