MyDigital expo to raise awareness on Catalytic Projects

Petaling Jaya: MyDigital Corp aims to raise awareness for its Catalytic Projects through the Smart Nation Expo 2022 and Asean Smart Cities Congress 2022 happening next month.

MyDigital CEO Fabian Bigar said the upcoming event would highlight the success of the Catalytic Projects as the facilitator of digital and technological transformation in Malaysia.

“The event will feature (digital products and services) from the Catalytic Projects to the visitors of the event. Although we have made announcements for the digital products and services, they have never made public appearances.

“Another thing, higher awareness leads to more cooperation. MyDigital cannot do this (Catalytic Projects) alone, we need participation from different companies operating in Malaysia.

“The programme paves the way for public and private sector collaboration to provide digital and technological solutions to companies for their transformation,” he told reporters at the press conference of the event at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre or Mitec, Kuala Lumpur.

The Catalytic Projects, a proactive initiative by the government based on public-private partnerships, was designed to accelerate the digital and technological transformation of Malaysia’s economy.

The agency under the Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department was tasked with delivering the initiatives under both Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint and the National IR 4.0 Policy.

The event organiser Targus CEO Andrew Siow said 30% of exhibitors would be from overseas while the remaining were companies based in Malaysia.

“Themed ‘Accelerating Digital Transformation’, the expo is where visitors can experience how all sectors of the economy can be transformed in the digital economy.

“We are expecting 20,000 buyers and visitors to attend the first international ‘in-person’ tech event, Smart Nation Expo 2022 after a two-year hiatus.

“The event is scheduled for Sept 27 to 29, at Mitec, Kuala Lumpur. The events will cover three halls over 12,000 sq ft, 450 exhibitors and brands will display the latest in 5G applications, Smart Cities, IR4.0, Emerging Technologies and Solutions – many for the first time in Malaysia,” Siow said.

Smart Nation Expo 2022 will highlight 10 key zones including smart energy, smart communications, smart manufacturing, IR4.0, smart government, smart energy, smart mobility and smart education, among others.

The Smart Nation Expo 2022 will host the Asean Smart Cities Congress 2022, which will feature over 50 prominent speakers and panellists from 10 countries with 500 delegates representing mayors, city officials, planners, architects, investors, developers and ICT professionals. “In addition, there will be over 20 technical papers delivered by industry experts,” Siow said.
