PETALING JAYA: Zerin Properties has ventured into the environmental, social and governance (ESG) sector by forming Zerin Habitat Sdn Bhd to advance ESG in real assets via a joint venture (JV) with Habitat Builders.

In a statement yesterday, chairman of Zerin Habitat, Previndran Singhe said the JV is in line with the international community’s goal to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.

“As governments, cities and individual companies plan for the future, it’s clear that transitioning to a sustainable world is a challenge that we must face together,” he said.

“We are ready to serve the real estate and infrastructure communities in Malaysia with a consistent framework to measure the ESG performance of individual assets and portfolios based on reported data,” said the executive director of Zerin Habitat, Rohen Chelliah.

A global real estate sustainability benchmark (GRESB) partner, Habitat provides a range of services, from assisting participants with their ESG strategy to aiding them to complete the GRESB assessment.
