SCIB unit secures RM30.75mil contract for DBKL project


KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd's (SCIB) unit SCIB Properties Sdn Bhd has secured an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract from Ennova Sdn Bhd valued at RM30.75mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said the contract is for project engineering services for the replacement of 200 units of Kuala Lumpur City Hall's (DBKL) smart lamp poles within the Klang valley.

"The Contract will not have any effect on the issued share capital and the shareholdings of substantial shareholders of the Company nor is any material effect on the net assets of SCIB and its group of companies (SCIB Group) for the financial year ending 30 June 2022.

"Nonetheless, the Contract is expected to contribute positively to SCIB Group’s future earnings as any profit attributable to the Group would be realized in stages during the tenure and progress of the Contract," it said.

At 12.30pm, shares in SCIB were last traded unchanged at RM22.5 sen a unit on the back of 1.58 million shares traded.

Its warrants were down 0.5 sen to 6.5 sen a unit with 139,900 units traded.
