Halim is Celcom interim chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Celcom Axiata Bhd has announced the appointment of Tan Sri Dr Halim Shafie (pic) as its interim chairman, effective June 2.

In a statement, the telco said the appointment follows the resignation of Datuk Izzaddin Idris who stepped down from his position as Axiata president and group chief executive officer and Celcom chairman on May 31, 2022. Halim was appointed Axiata Group independent non-executive director on Nov 1, 2020.
