Awang Adek resigns as PRG executive chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: PRG Holdings Bhd’s independent non-executive chairman Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin will be resigning from the group’s board, effective May 30.

PRG, in a Bursa filing, said that the resignation of Awang Adek was due to his recent appointment as the executive chairman of the Securities Commission with effect from June 1. Therefore, he has decided to step down from his role and responsibilities with PRG.

“The board of directors takes this opportunity to thank Awang Adek for his numerous contributions towards the group during his almost five-year tenure here. We wish him every success in his new endeavours,” group executive vice chairman Datuk Lua Choon Hann said in a separate statement.
