GIIB engages PKF Covenant to assist investigative committee

KUALA LUMPUR: GIIB Holdings Bhd has engaged PKF Covenant Sdn Bhd to assist the investigative committee in the investigation into the management and handling of the glove business and the group’s accounts executive director Wong Weng Yew.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, GIIB said PKF would independently examine the relevant evidence and information pertaining to the charges against Wong.

PKF will also provide comments on the evidence and information pertaining to the charges as well as prepare a report to the investigative committee and present findings in the said report.

“Given that PKF was only engaged on April 22, the investigative committee is not able to determine the period of time to be undertaken for the investigation for the time being," it said.

Wong has been suspended from his employment with the company since March 28 and the suspension has been extended until April 25.
