Sime Darby Industrial signs maintenance services contract with Cenergi SEA


KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Bhd's industrial unit has entered into a agreement with a subsidiary of Cenergi SEA Bhd to provide maintenance services for the latter's Caterpillar biogas gensets installed at its biogas power plants in Malaysia.

Sime Darby Industrial Sdn Bhd is an authorised distributor of Caterpillar heavy equipment and machineries as well as a provider of after-sales technical support services for the machinery.

Cenergi SEA Bhd, a subsdiary of Khazanah Nasional Bhd, is a premier sustainable energy solutions company which specialises in reducing carbon emissions.

The maintenance service agreement between Cenergi and Sime Darby Industrial is for five years effective Nov 1, 2021, and will also include the maintenance of potential additional Caterpillar gensets.

In a joint statement, the parties said the scope of work that will be performed by Sime Darby Industrial includes preventive and corrective maintenance services, technical support and the supply of Caterpillar parts for the gensets, among others.

"Sime Darby Industrial Sdn Bhd is a proponent of renewable and clean energy and we have received recognition by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia (SEDA) as a certified local manufacturer assembler.

"We are proud to offer a complete range of power solutions, from power plant design to combined heat and power units, including fuel treatment systems for extended service intervals,” said Sime Darby Industrial managing director CK Teoh.

Cenergi SEA group CEO Hairol Azizi Tajudin added that the optimisation will improve the overall project return to its shareholders.
